CMOS Imaging Technology

Our Technology Enables Low Cost, Small Footprint (less invasive) Endoscopes

The heart of our technology lies in the advancements to an imaging technology known as Complimentary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS). CMOS imagers, because of their low-noise and high-resolution, are displacing Charge Coupled Devices (CCD’s) that have been the standard imaging platform for the past +40 years. One advantage that CMOS imagers have over CCD devices is the ability to integrate all of the video processing circuitry onto the same silicon chip as the image-gathering photodiodes (pixel array). This allows the entire device to be placed onto a single chip the size of a tip of a paperclip. However, MIS' patented CMOS technology goes one step farther by separating the image sensor from the processing component, thus allowing an even smaller, less-invasive endoscope footprint.

Our platform-enabling and patented CMOS imaging technology allows for a variety of medical endoscopy applications, including Arthroscopy, Gastroenterology, ENT, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Neurology, Urology, Dentistry and potentially many others.
